Our Punter of the Week showed that it doesn’t take a huge outlay to pull in a pile of cash, turning $5 into $11,797 on Saturday afternoon!
Leg 1: Caulfield Race 4 – #11 Toffee Nose @ $6.00
Danny O’Brien trained Toffee Nose upstaged Ruthven in the VOBIS Gold Heath (2000m) to secure the first leg of our punter’s multi. Neck and neck down the straight before Toffee Nose came over the top in the final 50m.
Leg 2: Caulfield Race 6 – #1 French Emotion @ $2.75
French Emotion was the heavily backed favourite and duly saluted for our punter with a classy win. Settled a fair way off the pace but Ben Melham was able to navigate the field and get over the line. Has looked much more comfortable on the firmer Melbourne tracks.
Leg 3: Caulfield Race 7 – #8 Malibu Style @ $11.00
The longest leg of our punter’s multi was WA sprinter Malibu Style. Settled third and looked comfortable before shooting clear down the straight to win by 2 ¼ lengths. With this one locked away things were starting to heat up heading into legs 4 and 5.
Leg 4: Caulfield Race 8 – #4 Rich Charm @ $6.50
Our punter followed Rich Charm’s form and backed her into a third straight Melbourne win. Was well back at the turn but came home strong on the outside to claim the VOBIS Gold Sprint. With four legs secured it was over to Randwick for the sealer.
Leg 5: Randwick Race 7 – #6 Nieta @ $2.00
Nieta returned to racing with a powerful performance in the Ranvet Handicap (1000m). She now holds a 4/4 perfect record at this distance and our punter was able to capitalise for his last leg. Probably a little closer than many were expecting which provided a classic heart attack moment for this 5-leg, $11k multi!
