A big bet of $50,150 has been placed on the Federal Election with the punter backing Coalition to beat Labor.

One Sportsbet punter today wagered the largest bet to date of $50,150 on the Coalition to win the election.

The customer placed the bet at odds of $1.30 and stands to win $65,195.

Coalition odds of winning the election now cut from $1.30 into $1.28. Labor out to $3.70 from $3.50.

Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au today received the largest bet to date on the election with a $50,150 wager on the Coalition to win at odds of $1.33.

The punter stands to collect $65,195 should Malcolm Turnbull be returned as PM and follows the previous largest bet of $30,000 placed two weeks ago.

Sportsbet have now cut the odds on the Coalition winning the election for the first time since May 18th from $1.30 into $1.28.

The largest bet on Labor is only $1,400 although there has been significantly more individual bets placed on Bill Shorten’s team but their price drifts from $3.50 out to $3.70.

“It’s quite a significant bet so this punter is obviously confident that Malcolm will lead his party to victory on July 2nd,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
