Rock bottom is almost within arm’s reach for the Bombers.

After picking up a rare win over the Saints a fortnight ago, the Dons came crashing back down to earth with a 10-point loss to West Coast last week – one of the worst teams the competition has seen over the last decade.

A trip back to the MCG to face the Swans is another stiff challenge for Ben Rutten’s men, especially with key midfielder Andrew McGrath in doubt to make his return.

There is some good news on the Darcy Parish front, but it’s hard to entertain any kind of upset against a Sydney team that features one of the best midfields in the game, and a potent forward line that just had 23 scoring shots against St Kilda.

The Swans have won three straight over the Saints dating back to the start of last season, but it’s worth noting five of their last six meetings have been decided by 15 points or less.

Sydney is averaging nearly three more goals per-game than the Bombers right now, so they should win this game, but given their 1-2 record in Melbourne this season, the 1-39 margin is probably the safest play.
