The Flight Stakes (Race 6) is also over the famous Randwick Mile for three-year-old fillies and at the top of the betting is the David Vandyke-trained Yankee Rose.
She hasn’t had a very smooth preparation this time in, but was still able to run a nice race in the Golden Rose.
Yankee Rose is a highly talented horse when right and I’m happy to forgive that last start effort because she’s a much better horse when ridden with a sit.
This filly is a deserved favourite in this race but I won’t be backing her because I’m a big fan of the Chris Waller-trained Awoke.
She hasn’t had much luck this time in but on Saturday she should get every chance from barrier 4.
She should be ready to peak now and I expect her to adore the rise in trip. Follow this talented filly.
