The Blues find themselves sitting fourth on the ladder heading into Round 9, a position they can improve on with a win over the Giants this week.
Carlton has rattled off two wins on the trot over hapless North Melbourne and Adelaide over the last fortnight as Patrick Cripps continues to firm in Brownlow Medal betting.
The fearsome duo of Harry McKay and Ed Curnow up forward continues to dominate, while the Blues should also have some revenge in mind after losing to the Giants twice last year.
GWS beat the Crows themselves two weeks ago by a healthy margin, but they were quickly found out last week by a superior Geelong outfit that walked away comfortable 53-point winners.
Scoring has been the biggest problem for the Giants this season – a big concern going up against a Blues team that features one of the best forward pairings in the competition.
The rainy weather in Sydney could see this turn into a scrappy game, but with the Blues dominating through the midfield and currently leading the competition in marks and disposals, they should be tough to beat.
