The Wolf turns its back on the DPC circuit as Moscow plays host to the MegaFon Winter Clash. Five directly invited teams and a lone qualifier face off in the midst of a Russian winter.
A three day format with a limited field, what’s with all the fuss?
Don’t be fooled punters, this lineup is stacked. Four teams lie in the top 6 of GosuGamers Dota Rankings, and that’s a guarantee to bring high stakes action to your weekend. With that in mind, the Wolf takes a look at what is on offer for the days ahead.

Forward Gaming ($15.00)
Previously known as VGJ.Storm and one of very few teams that can be considered an American hope, Forward Gaming just hasn’t looked the same since The International. A new patch might just be the chance they need to return to former glory.
The fan favourites will always draw attention and the Wolf is still upset Dendi isn’t wearing the yellow and black. Despite a string of poor performances, Natus Vincere stormed through the qualifier to become the MegaFon underdogs.
Team Liquid ($4.75) and PSG.LGD ($7.50)
These two juggernauts tick all the same boxes; TI royalty and top tier teams by any standards, a match featuring either of these two means it’s time to make a highlight reel. This should be the focus of the event, but two teams are casting an awfully large shadow.
WHERE THE ACTION IS
This tournament is all about Team Secret and Virtus Pro. VP are fresh off yet another major win and will battle against a reformed Team Secret who are riding a 90% win rate in November. Their only loss did come at the hands of VP, but it was a close 3-2 series which has only left The Wolf hungry for more.
It will be hard to overcome the home field advantage of the Russian squad, but an off season roster shuffle has left Secret dominating the scene.
There are two things to be excited about; the guarantee of a group stage showdown and the likely event of a grand final rematch. The Wolf knows that this is the tournament that will shape the season.
