This means that online betting companies can no longer offer free bets or lines of credit to any of their customers.
The gambling laws in NSW are controlled and regulated by The Department of Liquor and Gaming.

While many other states are regularly offered incentives when they sign up and make a deposit or place a bet these offers are no longer offered to NSW residents.
Money Back Specials
It’s common for online bookmakers in Australia to offer promotions that allow customers to have their bet refunded under certain circumstances. For example if their horse runs second or third. The regulations for New South Wales restrict residents from taking advantage of these promotions.
Many bookmakers will often advertise enhanced odds on a certain market. For example Ladbrokes will offer $2.00 odds on a $1.40 favourite but restrict the size of the bet to a maximum $25. The restricting puts in place by the New South Wales Government mean their residents can not participate in these offers.

The NSW Government has also placed restrictions on existing clients of Australian bookies from claiming any form of bonuses when the refer their friends directly to the bookmaker. Residents of other states can claim up as much as $100 in free bets for each referral they make.
