ROBERT WHITTAKER VS KELVIN GASTELUM
UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Robert Whittaker is currently on a nine fight winning streak in the UFC including back to back wins over Yoel Romero. Both wins came after having sustained serious injuries during both fights.
No UFC Middleweight has ever beaten Whittaker inside the Octagon and he will defend his belt in front of his home crowd in Melbourne.
Whittaker heads into this fight the favourite not because his opponent is not worthy, but because he is that good. He is an extremely well rounded fighter who has shown an enormous array of skills in his fights to date.
At 28 years of age Whittaker has some of his best years ahead of him and the Australian public can witness him ascend into one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time.
The Middleweight division is somewhat short of contenders for Whittaker however Kelvin Gastelum has earnt an opportunity at the title after impressive back to back wins.
He knocked former champ Michael Bisping out in the first round back in November of 2017 and won a split decision against Ronaldo Souza.
Pundits have been quick to criticize these two wins. Bisping had lost his belt only three weeks prior against Georges St-Pierre before taking on Gastelum and retired immediately after.
There were plenty that thought Souza won the tight contest in Brazil as well however no one will contest that Gastelum was next in line to fight Whittaker. That somewhat sums up the Middleweight Division right now.
Robert Whittaker is a genuine star of the UFC and he should outclass Kelvin Gastelum in front of his home crowd. His striking has improved every time he has competed inside the Octagon and he can win via a KO.
TIP: Back Robert Whittaker To Win By KO
ISRAEL ADESANYA VS ANDERSON SILVA
Israel Adesanya has burst onto the scene and quickly become one of the most exciting UFC fighter in any weight division.
There is no hiding the fact that UFC President Dana White thinks ‘The Last Style Bender’ can be his next Pay Per View cash cow and a win in this fight could see him next in line for a fight against Robert Whittaker should he win.
This is no easy challenge however as he faces arguably the greatest Middleweight of all time in Anderson Silva who is is on a mission to win back his title.
A four fight losing streak was broken in his last fight when he beat Derek Brunson via a unanimous decision.
There are may similarities between Adesanya and Silva. Their precision, style and unpredictable nature are a few attributes that spring to mind however one fighter is 29 and the other 43.
It is Adesanya’s time in the spotlight and he will win this fight.
TIP: Back Israel Adesanya By KO
