The Lions and the Crows found themselves at opposite ends of the spectrum last week.
As expected, Brisbane covered the health 70-point line set against wounded West Coast, while the Blues were on the receiving end of their own blowout defeat against Carlton.
The Lions have opened healthy favourites again on the road, but this does shape as an interesting challenge for Chris Fagan’s men after Dan McStay suffered an ankle injury last week.
McStay’s potential absence puts more pressure on a forward line also missing Joe Daniher, leaving many to wonder if Eric Hipwood might make his return to the side sooner than expected.
Regardless, there’s still enough talent and depth for the Lions to put the Crows to the sword.
We saw Dayne Zorko push forward and kick goals a couple of weeks ago against the Swans, while Lincoln McCarthy, Charlie Cameron, Cam Rayner, and Zac Bailey are all capable of carrying the load.
The Crows are a feisty team that has pushed teams like Fremantle and the Bulldogs this year, but the way they’ve been giving up goals recently is a big concern.
Adelaide now ranks fourth in goals allowed to opponents, while they’re also averaging over five scoring shots less than Brisbane this year.
The Lions have won three in a row over the Crows dating back to 2019, and if they can avoid a slow start on the road, they should pick up another here.
