The Dees have regained their rightful spot on top of the ladder following last week’s big win over Brisbane, a position they’ll be hoping to cement even further on Saturday when they travel to Adelaide to face the Crows.

After falling behind early, the Lions seemingly awakened the beast in the first quarter as the Dees ran away 64-point winners thanks to a big night from Bailey Fritsch and Clayton Oliver.

Despite what the scoreboard suggests, the Crows had their hands full with North Melbourne early on, at least before Tex Walker took over with another six-goal bag.

Matthew Nicks’ men will relish the chance to measure themselves against the benchmark in the competition, but this looks a massive test against a Demons side that rolled them 104-63 last season.

That said, the Crows did knock off Melbourne in a single-point thriller a few months earlier at home, so you can’t entirely rule out an upset.

Still, the Dees seemed to rediscover some of their mojo last week following the bye, particularly down back where they held the Lions to just seven goals.

It’s doubtful we see the club rush Max Gawn back from injury, but with Simon Goodwin likely taking an unchanged side down south, Melbourne should boost its percentage with a comfortable win.
