On the back of Wimbledon’s draw announcement last night, Australian superstar Ash Barty has drifted from $5 to $6.50 with TAB as her quarter is full of grass court specialists including eight-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams ($8).
Patriotic punters are still siding with the crafty Queenslander as she currently holds 73 percent of the money wagered on the Wimbledon Women’s Singles winner.
An interesting first round encounter between Nick Kyrgios ($1.40) and Jordan Thompson ($2.90) will see the winner face world number 2 Rafael Nadal in the second round.
“The enigmatic Kyrgios is one of the few players that has fared well against Nadal with their overall record at 3-all, including the Australian’s arrival on the world stage when he defeated the Spaniard in the round-of-16 at the 2014 Championships” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
“Kyrgios (currently world number 43) is only ranked two places higher than his compatriot Thompson, so it won’t be an easy assignment for the two-time grand slam quarter-finalist.”
