The Wallabies will look to consolidate 2nd position in Pool D with an expected win over Uruguay this Saturday. Thus far in this World Cup campaign, Australia haven’t looked at their best, so this clash should give them opportunities to improve.
In the win over Fiji and the 4 point loss against Wales, slow starts have cruelled the Wallabies’ chances. They were down 8-0 early on against the Fijians and Wales punished some poor Aussie errors before half-time last week. So the Wallabies will be keen to fix their slow starts here against Uruguay. In team news, they welcome back Christian Lealiifano in the halves at the expense of Bernard Foley. This is also a good chance for the bench to receive more playing time. The South Americans started the tournament with a thrilling 3 point victory over Fiji, 30-27. But they showed their inconsistency with a disappointing follow-up loss to Georgia 33-7. So they’ll need to regain the confidence that saw them take down Fiji.
Ultimately, the Wallabies will easily beat Georgia and it’s just a matter of by how much. The Wolf believes they’ll be happy with a bonus point victory and surviving the game without any injuries will be the key. So if Uruguay can score a few points, they should be able to cover this massive line.
