A TAB customer is extremely confident that Ash Barty will be too strong for Daria Gavrilova in their Australian Open second round match taking place tomorrow afternoon.
The TAB punter in question has placed a $100,000 wager at $1.07 on No.1 seed Barty to defeat her fellow Australian and make a profit of $7000.
“The $100,000 bet placed on Barty to account for Gavrilova is the biggest wager placed on any player to win a match at this year’s Australian Open,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
“The largest wager involving the first tennis major of 2021 is the $115,000 bet at $2.25 from last Wednesday on Novak Djokovic to win the men’s singles championship.”
Barty and Gavrilova will follow the second round encounter between Danielle Collins and Karolina Pliskova which commences just after 11am AEDT at Rod Laver Arena.
