Beaufine Stakes Day at Belmont Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 10/7/2021

Beaufine Stakes Day will take place at Perth’s Belmont Racecourse on Saturday and with Wednesday’s metro meeting abandoned, it will now feature a whopping eleven races!

The rail will be set out thirteen metres around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Heavy (8) range.

Preview brought to you by Ladbrokes. Learn more about Ladbrokes HERE.

Race 1 – 12:48PM AEST – Morley Growers Market Plate, (1200m)

There’s virtually no form to divulge ahead of the first one Beaufine Stakes Day and several debutants are prominent in the market.

I’m happy to wait until Race 2.

Race 2 – 1:23PM AEST – Better Your Bet Plate, (1200m)

I thought there were things to like about The Front Bar’s debut effort here last month and she can break her maiden this week.

The Sessions filly showed ability at the trials prior to debuting and kept all of her best work for late when fourth, beaten two lengths here last time.

She small rise in trip suits and she can win.

Race 3 – 2:02pm AEST – Westspeed Platinum Handicap, (1300m)

Ohbeeh has returned to the races in smart form this time and strikes another winnable race on Beaufine Stakes Day.

The Sessions gelding proved too good over 1200m here when fresh, and while he was a little flat second-up, he responded with another lovely effort and win here last time.

Fitter fourth-up and with some relief in the weights, he can make it two in a row.

Race 4 – 2:42pm AEST – Amelia Park Handicap, (1650m)

Zaratite looks the runner to beat in the fourth on Beaufine Stakes Day.

The Animal Kingdom gelding has been nothing short of outstanding since making his debut, and arrived at Belmont on Saturday withy a record of four wins and as many second placings from nine starts.

He’ll take plenty of improvement from his resuming effort for second behind Naughty By Nature here and he is my best bet on the program.

Race 5 – 3:22pm AEST – Crown Perth Plate, (1400m)

Searchin’ Roc’s looks well placed to continue her rise through the grades at Belmont on Saturday.

The Awesome Rock filly finished fifth, beaten more than six lengths here on debut last month but enjoyed plenty of improvement into her second career start; an easy win under similar conditions last time.

This is harder, but she harbours plenty of upside and can win again.

Race 6 – 3:58pm AEST – Pennisula Dining Room Handicap, (1200m)

Secret Plan looms as a key winning chance in the sixth on Beaufine Stakes Day.

The I Am Invincible gelding has been a model of consistency throughout his career and raced home well to fill the minors here a fortnight ago.

Pikey has options from the rails draw and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

Race 7 – 4:33pm AEST – Mrs Mac’s Handicap, (1000m)

This looks like being one of the more open races on the program and I am going to have something on last-start winner Forest War.

Forest War took a few to tune up and find his best form when resuming this time, but returned to winning form with a lovely effort at this track and trip in late May.

He has since filled the minors in a similar race and won at Northam, and he is at peak fitness for this contest.

Race 8 – 5:10pm AEST – Listed Beaufine Stakes, (1000m)

This is an outstanding edition of the Beaufine Stakes, but I am going to stick with the talented Miss Conteki.

Simply put, she’s one of the best horses currently going around in the west, and she won each of her first four starts back this time in impressive fashion, before only just missing after spotting Long Beach a big start here last time.

She gets into this well under the conditions, Willie Pike is obviously a bonus and she can return to winning form.

Race 9 – 5:45pm AEST – Furphy Handicap, (2100m)

This is another wide-open contest and there is a case to be made for several runners, including Treasured Crown.

He hasn’t shown his best form through three starts back this time, but he has stripped fitter for each, and he is another whose chances of winning have been enhanced with the booking of W. Pike.

Race 10 – 6:15pm AEST – All Flags Signs & Banners Handicap, (1400m)

Sentimental Hero is up to winning the penultimate race on Beaufine Stakes Day.

Sentimental Hero was a model of consistency last prep, and he completed an ideal return to the races with a lovely win over the likes of Beau Zoom here a fortnight ago.

He’ll only improve for that effort and looks a touch of overs at his current price ($4.40 at publish).

Race 11 – 6:55pm AEST – Western Racepix Handicap, (1200m)

I’m happy to stick with Puli in the last on Beaufine Stakes Day.

Puli stripped fitter with a decent effort to fill the minors in Class 5 company here when resuming and hasn’t looked back, winning each of his next two with something in hand.

With even luck, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.
