Feature racing continues at Belmont in Perth on Saturday and the Listed H.G. Bolton Sprint headlines a nine-race program.
The rail will be set out three metres around the entire course and at publish, the track is rated in the Heavy (8) range.

Race 1 – 2:13PM AEST – Allan Guelfi Plate, (1000m)
He’s A Sizzler hasn’t been seen at the races since February, but I thought that he showed plenty of promise during his debut prep and he can break his maiden at Belmont on Saturday.
The Sizzling gelding was unlucky not to win on debut at Ascot, but he was sent to the paddock after failing to fire second-up.
He has had the benefit of a trial in the lead-up to his return and I’m happy to take the $5 available at publish.
Race 2 – 2:49PM AEST – Westspeed Platinum Handicap, (1400m)
Snippy Miss can bounce back into winning form in Race 2.
The Snippetson mare finished second at each of her first three starts back this time and was rewarded for her building condition with a smart win over 1200m here two back.
She ran into trouble in running last time, but stuck on well to finish fourth and importantly, William Pike jumps into the saddle on Saturday and Snippy Miss will take plenty of beating again.
Race 3 – 3:29pm AEST – Free Entry To Belmont Park Handicap, (1300m)
Speed Dream is ready to win when he steps out at Belmont on Saturday.
The Dream Ahead gelding has improved with each of his first four back this time and kept all of his best work for late when second, beaten half a length over 1400m here last time.
The small drop in drop shouldn’t be an issue and he is at peak fitness for this contest.
Race 4 – 4:08pm AEST – Morley Growers Market Handicap, (2200m)
Zaratite shapes as the runner to beat in the fourth on Bolton Sprint Day.
The Grant & Alana Williams-trained gelding simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and he has finished worse than second once in ten career starts.
He has only just missed pipping the winner in two back this time and he is my best bet on Saturday’s program.
Race 5 – 4:40pm AEST – Perth Racing Club Membership Handicap, (1300m)
Dunbar’s last-start effort left a bit to be desired, but I am happy to give him another chance in the fifth at Belmont on Saturday.
The Vancouver gelding has been a notable performer for the Williams stable since making his debut, and I thought that there was a lot to like about his resuming effort this time, in which he only just missed.
I’m happy to chalk up his last effort to a little ‘second-up syndrome’, and he can atone in something like this.
Race 6 – 5:20pm AEST – Amelia Park Handicap, (1600m)
She has been charged with carrying topweight, but Sentimental Queen still looks extremely difficult to beat in the sixth at Belmont on Saturday.
She returned to the races in late April for two impressive performances that each result in wins, and she returned from a freshen-up to finish a close second here a fortnight ago.
I’m confident that run will have brought her right back on and she’ll be right in the finish of this.
Race 7 – 5:50pm AEST – Crown Perth Handicap, (1400m)
I think that Vital Blast is better than his $19 quote would suggest, and I am eager to have an each-way play in what shapes as an open race.
The six-year-old son of Vital Equine filled the minors behind a couple of good ones when fresh, and while he was a little flat second-up, he responded with an eye-catching performance and win over 1300m here last time.
He’ll settle back in the field from barrier 9 and with clear passage, he can fight out the finish again.
Race 8 – 6:20pm AEST – Listed H.G. Bolton Sprint, (1200m)
Nerodio has gone to another level recently and looms as the runner to beat in the Bolton Sprint.
The Playing God gelding has missed placing only three times in twenty-one career starts, and he has won each of his last three starts with something in hand, including the Listed Beaufine Stakes last time.
This is another rise in class, but nothing suggests to me that he won’t be able to take it successfully.
Race 9 – 7:00pm AEST – Heineken 3 Handicap, (1000m)
I’m happy to give the talented Miss Frost another chance in the last on Bolton Sprint Day.
Miss Frost hasn’t shown her best in two starts back this time, but she was outstanding last prep and I am confident that she can return to those heights this campaign.
There’s little doubt she has stripped fitter for both starts back this time and with even luck, something like this is certainly within her abilities.
