Breeders Classic Tips, Odds and Field Preview – 2017

The Breeders Classic (Race 7) has also attracted a quality ensemble of mares with our Sydney form guru especially keen on the chances of Kris Lees’ Danish Twist.

A winner of the Provincial Championships Final here last April, this mare showcased her ability to sprint well fresh with a narrow third to multiple black-type winners Takedown and Our Boy Malachi in the Premiere Stakes in the spring.

She also has the Coolmore on her radar and has come in for considerable support with us since markets were released on Wednesday.

Buoyed by the successful return of Music Magnate in last weekend’s Expressway Stakes, trainer Bjorn Baker will be represented here by Egyptian Symbol, who will be looking to atone for a somewhat disappointing sixth in the Fillies & Mares race on Magic Millions day.

Forging to the front after a clean getaway, the bay was able to open a gap on the field around the turn but was swamped in the concluding stages and the drop back to 1200m will surely be more to her liking.

Of the others, Flippant comes out of the same race on the Gold Coast where she stuck to her task well, awful draws haven’t helped her chances of late but she’ll have no such excuses from the inside alley under the returning Corey Brown.

Waller pair French Emotion and Tsaritsa are talented but looking for further ground and are probably place chances at best.

Tips:

  1. Danish Twist
  2. Egyptian Symbol
  3. Flippant
  4. Tsaritsa
