Punters continue to back Patrick Dangerfield with sportsbet.com.au at a short $1.16 to win tonight’sBrownlow Medal.
The online bookmaker paid-out early on Dangerfield to win this year’s Brownlow Medal, with more than 3,000 punters sharing in $600,000 at the end of July when his odds were $1.68.
Almost 4,000 punters have backed Dangerfield to win the Brownlow since the pay-out, with Sportsbet facing a further $1 million plus pay-out if he wins tonight, as expected.
With Dangerfield a short odds-on favourite, most of the recent interest has been in Sportsbet’s Brownlow Medal Without Dangerfield market. Dustin Martin is the $3.25 favourite, but more punters are backing Sydney’s Luke Parker at odds of $5.00.
Marcus Bontempelli has shortened from $9.00 into $8.00 to win minus Dangerfield, with strong support for Daniel Hannebery ($10) and Sam Mitchell ($11).
In Sportsbet’s Brownlow Medal Place market, Patrick Dangerfield is a short $1.05. Dustin Martin sits on the second line of betting at $2.25 but once again Luke Parker is the best backed at $3.25.
Bontempelli has shortened from $3.75 into $3.50, but Jack Steven has cooled, out from $8.00 to $13 to finish in the top 3.
