Carlton had a chance to be equal top of the ladder when they took on Richmond last Thursday night but ultimately failed, going down by 15 points.
They have now lost two of their last three which also includes a loss to rival Collingwood.
Charlie Curnow kicked just the single goal against Richmond but Harry Mckay booted four and their forward line looks much more dangerous with both inside the forward 50.
Docherty, Walsh and Cripps all collected 30 touches in that game but the Blues were well beaten in clearances and they rank third last in centre clearances for the season.
Fremantle are starting to find form at the right time and they have accounted for Melbourne, Brisbane and Hawthorn in their last three games.
Only Melbourne has had less points scored against them this season, but they have now kicked 14 goals in their last three straight games with multiple avenues to goal.
I can’t split these two in terms of a winner but I don’t see there being much of a margin between them.
