There’s no one hotter than the team wearing black and white right now.

Jamie Elliott’s walk-off winner against Essendon last week will go down in Collingwood folklore, and although one could argue that their growing list of narrow wins is slightly concerning, at the same time, first-year coach Craig McRae has to be wrapped with the leadership his side has shown.

A win over Port on Saturday could go a long way to sewing a top-four spot, but there’s every chance this one turns into another thriller at the ‘G.

Port’s season is virtually on the line following last week’s honorable loss to the Cats, but Ken Hinkley’s men have every right to feel confident knowing they’ve won their last three games against Collingwood dating back to 2020.

All three of those contests have been decided by a margin of 1-39 points, and we’ve seen a similar trend unfold with each of Collingwood’s last nine wins resulting in the same.

The Pies were smashed in the stoppages last week, an area Port Adelaide fared quite well against Geelong.

Backing the Power to win in Melbourne is always a risky proposition, and there isn’t enough insurance on offer to justify a bet at the line.

Therefore, the Pies 1-39 seems a safe enough bet given Collingwood’s recent history, and the fact Port is sweating on a few key injuries to Charlie Dixon, Mitch Georgiades, and Zak Butters.
