Just when we thought the Saints were dead and buried, they come roaring back to life with a stunning 40-point win over the reigning premiers.

Brett Ratten’ side still has plenty of work left to do from here, but another win over Collingwood on Sunday would go a long way to bridging the gap between themselves and the top eight.

Collingwood has little left to play for at this point and it is surprising to find the Pies as short-priced favourites in betting.

The Magpies came back down to earth last week in Robert Harvey’s first game as interim coach with a 12-point loss to Fremantle, but this does look an ideal bounce-back game against a St Kilda side that typically gives up goals for fun.

Last week’s win over Richmond was impressive, but you could argue it was more a case of the Tigers playing awful footy, as opposed to the Saints putting on a clinic.

Say what you will about Collingwood, but they’ve owned St Kilda’s number in recent years with three straight wins, and if they can avoid the second quarter collapse that cost them so dearly last week, so they should be right in this.
