There is no need to try and pretend that the Force have anything resembling a chance of pulling off one of the most monumental upsets in sport this Friday.
A week after being outclassed to the tune of 37 points in Wellington last week, things do not get any easier with a Crusaders side that has scored 117 points over its last two games up next.
It should be no surprise then that the line for this game is an astronomical 33.5 points at the time of writing.
While the Crusaders have been ruthless in attack, their defensive record in Super Rugby Trans Tasman has been somewhat suspect, conceding 29, 28 and 28 points in their three victories.
Chances are the Crusaders will find a way to score 50 points on their own but if they give up 20 at the other end of the park, it puts the line in jeopardy.
For that reason, instead of backing either team at the line, I’ll settle on taking the Crusaders to win by 13+ points and over the total points line.
