The AFC Wild Card picture comes into focus on Friday between the middling Broncos and Browns.
Cleveland heads back to the Dawg Pound following a demoralising loss to the Cardinals last week, a game that featured three turnovers, a big lack of possession, and an injury to Baker Mayfield.
In the midst of a three-game skid, the Broncos are also looking worse for wear following a 10-point defeat against the rival Raiders last week.
Denver’s defence has given up 23 points or more during the current losing streak, while quarterback Teddy Bridgewater turned the ball over four times against Vegas.
Fortunately, the Broncos meet the Browns at the right time with Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt all listed on the injury report.
It looks like Baker will try and suit up, but after dislocating his shoulder in the loss to Arizona, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cleveland takes a cautious approach given the short rest.
Speaking of the short work, the Broncos have gone 11-3 against the spread in this scenario in their last 14 Thursday Night Football Games.
If we do see Browns backup Case Keenum facing his former side, I think Denver is worth a look to cover.
