F1 Spanish Grand Prix 2020 Tips, Odds and Free Bonus Bets

The Spanish Grand Prix is always one of the top highlights on the Formula 1 calendar and we appear to be in for another thriller on Sunday following two exciting races at Silverstone.

Lewis Hamilton has been installed as the odds-on favourite in betting as he shoots for his fifth win in Spain, but last week’s 70th Grand Prix Anniversary winner, Max Verstappen, has proven Mercedes are more than beatable.

Hamilton still sits firmly atop the driver’s standings, but with hot temperatures expected again this week, we could see Red Bull close the gap significantly.

We’ve previewed the entire 2020 Spanish Grand Prix and our best bets can be found below .

2020 Spanish Grand Prix Race Winner

Max Verstappen to win at $5.50

The high temperatures at Silverstone last week cost Mercedes a win.

A week after Hamilton’s tyres deteriorated on the final lap of the British Grand Prix, Mercedes only managed to finish second and third behind Verstappen and the speedy Red Bull.

Temps are expected to rise into the 30-degree range on race day, which poses a handful of challenges for all constructors on the short backup.

Fortunately, most drivers are more than familiar with Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as preseason winter testing takes place on this track.

Hamilton has won each of the last three Spanish Grand Prix’s, but it’s worth noting this track was the site of Verstappen’s first F1 win.

Red Bull have won three of their last nine Spanish Grand Prix’s, so I think the odds on offer for Max to go back-to-back are a touch over.

2020 Spanish Grand Prix Fastest Lap

Red Bull at $3.00

I also like Red Bull to set the fastest lap with Mercedes facing major tyre issues.

Red Bull currently lead the pack in tyre management this season, while Mercedes have struggled with their pit strategies in the last two races.

High temps make life tricky for everyone, but the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is far more forgiving than Silverstone.

Verstappen won’t have to worry as much about high-speed corners this weekend, and with plenty of success on this track already, I think we can expect some speedy times from the Finn.
