Federal Election 2016: Coalition’s odds continue to shorten to beat Labor Party

Sportsbet.com.au punters continue to back the Coalition to win the July 2 election, with its odds firming today from $1.20 into $1.17.

The online bookmaker has now taken almost eight times the money on the Coalition compared to Labor, which has seen its odds drift from $4.50 out to $5.00.

Punters are also steering away from a hung parliament, with the odds of it happening drifting from $3.75 out to $4.25.

“The longer the campaign goes the more convinced punters are becoming that Malcolm Turnbull will win the election. The Coalition is the shortest it has been since the campaign started, with Labor’s odds almost doubling,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Bulmer.
