This shapes as one of the toughest games to pick with even money on offer.
The Dockers will take plenty away from their Derby win over half-strength West Coast last week, while the Giants also received a small confidence booster in the form of a 26-point win over the Suns.
Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe is still a month or so away after underdoing back surgery last week, but there’s still plenty to like about the Dockers’ young outfit with Andrew Brayshaw and Lachie Schultz leading the way.
Toby Greene is still a couple of weeks away from returning from suspension, but there was a lot to like about his counterpart Tom Green, as well as the first few games from Stephen Coniglio.
The Dockers belted the Giants when they met in Perth early last year, but this has typically been a fixture dominated by GWS over the last few seasons.
That said, home-field advantage should play a big part here – particularly against a Giants side that doesn’t tend to travel that well at times.
Considering GWS also looked less-than-ordinary against Richmond a fortnight earlier, it’s much easier to feel confident in Freo.
