Mathematically the Suns are still a chance at making the eight, but they’ll need to get cracking this week with an upset win over a Tigers side with just as much to play for.

Gold Coast actually beat Richmond by 10-points in a thriller last year, but a couple of losses to Port and Collingwood has left them sitting eight points adrift from finals contention with a tough run home.

The Tigers, on the other hand, look well on their way to returning to finals after knocking off West Coast last week by 35 points.

Richmond’s remaining schedule is far from easy, but they should feel confident knowing the Suns are nursing a long list of injuries heading into Saturday’s clash.

In another unfortunate stroke of luck, defender Connor Budarick is set to miss the rest of the season following an ACL injury, adding to a list that compiles of Ben King, Joel Jeffrey, and Lachie Weller.

Losing another key man down back could be the final nail in the coffin for the Suns, especially going up against a potent Richmond forward line that ranks second in average goals.

The Suns have plenty of firepower up forward to keep this interesting, but statistically, it’s hard to see them keeping up through the midfield.
