This might be the most fascinating market of the season so far.
The Giants opened almost even money with the Cats before drifting during the week, which is largely due to the bookies potentially overreacting to last week’s big win over the Crows.
To be fair, the Giants looked strong in their 59-point win, but it’s hard to read too much into a blowout victory against an immature Adelaide outfit.
More importantly, GWS now faces every team’s worst nightmare: Geelong on the back of a loss.
The Cats looked well on their way to a win over Fremantle at The Cattery last week before the Dockers switched things up at quarter-time and never looked back.
Fremantle basically sucked the life out of the Cats, beating them at their own game with slick lateral ball movement and some outstanding defensive efforts.
The Giants have enough talent on the park to make a game of this, especially if Stephen Coniglio and Toby Greene play like they did last week – but it’s hard to see GWS, a team that ranks 12th in inside 50s, matching the Cats on the scoreboard for four quarters.
