Inglis Guineas day at Rosehill Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 15/5/2021

We take a look at the feature race meeting in NSW on Saturday which is at the Rosehill where the Inglis Guineas headlines the card. View our race meeting preview and tips.

RACE 1: HIGHWAY HANDICAP (1500M) 11:30AM

Scarleo is already a winner of a Highway race at this track and distance back in September of last year when winning by a nose at $11.

The four year old gelding comes into this assignment first up from a spell but he profiles as the perfect horse for these highway races.

RACE 2: LISTED WOODLANDS STAKES (1100M) 12:05PM

Satin Ribbons is making her racing debut for the Snowden stable in the second race of the day.

She has had four barrier trials overall and has looked like a serious race horse in each of them.

Watch betting for a guide.

RACE 3: BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP (2000M) 12:40PM

It has been seven weeks in between runs for Welsh Legend but her form this prep has been pretty consistent.

She is a winner at this track and grade just two starts back and although she is being asked to carry more weight, she is always a chance over her preferred distance of 2000m.

RACE 4: LISTED DENISE’S JOY STAKES (1100M) 1:15PM

Najmah kick started her prep with back to back seconds before stepping up in class to tackle Group 3 level in the P J Bell at Randwick.

The daughter of Snitzel was well beaten in that race but bounced back with a narrow defeat at Caulfield last time out.

That was a step down in grade but the two that finished in front of her, Intrepidacious and Plaquette are stakes grade horses in my opinion.

RACE 5: RESTRICTED LISTED INGLIS 3YO GUINEAS (1400M) 1:50PM

This is a really good edition of the Inglis Guineas for the three year old’s and Exoboom comes into this race off the back of an impressive victory in the Hawkesbury Guineas last start.

He has the added benefit of the two runs so far this prep which gives him a fitness edge over the other horse right in the market, Prime Star, and he should be ready to peak now at his third run.

RACE 6: LISTED LUSKIN STAR STAKES (1300M) 2:30PM

Lost And Running has now won five if his six career starts and never finished worse than second.

He was absolutely dominant last start when scoring by four lengths at Randwick in a benchmark 88 and while this is another step up in class, he looks a truly good horse.

Athiri was very plain first up from a spell at Group 3 level but she is a fair better mare than that and can bounce back to fill a place.

RACE 7: LISTED ORTENSIA STAKES (1100M) 3:10PM

Fiesta has not been seen at the races since she ran fifth in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes behind Fasika a month ago.

She was beaten just two lengths in that race and has been given a barrier trial in between runs.

There is no arguing against the fact she has been a really good mare for connections, winning $1.6 million in prize money and if things go her way in running she is a chance here at nice each way odds.

RACE 8: BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP (1100M) 3:50PM

Salina Dreaming has managed five wins from 10 career race starts and has been unplaced just twice.

One of those was last start when she ran into the very smart Lost And Running at Randwick but her form before that was good enough to measure up to this field.

RACE 9: BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP (1400M) 4:30PM

Let’s box these four up in the last and see if we can finish the day on a winning note.
