Lachie Neale’s odds continue to shorten in 2020 Brownlow Medal betting

After racking up 36 disposals for the Brisbane Lions against the Western Bulldogs last Saturday night, Lachie Neale is now the $1.60 favourite at TAB to win the 2020 Brownlow Medal.

Neale is now the shortest-priced Brownlow Medal favourite in TAB history after 11 rounds since Gary Davies kept records in 1998.

Nat Fyfe was $1.75 after Round 11 when he took ‘Charlie’ home in 2015 while Gary Ablett was $2.20 after 11 rounds when he was victorious in 2009.

Before Round 16 in 2014, Gary Ablett was $1.60 until he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury while Anthony Koutoufides was $1.80 before Round 20, 2000 until he injured his knee and was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

A couple of Neale’s challengers have shortened in recent weeks with 2017 winner Dustin Martin $26 before Round 9 and now $9 while Travis Boak shortened from $17 to $12 after Port Adelaide’s 21-point victory over Richmond at the Adelaide Oval last Saturday night.
