A midgame meltdown from Richmond’s Dustin Martin has seen the midfielder suspended for two weeks and Brisbane Lions’ youngster Lachie Neale ($6) firm in TAB’s Brownlow market.
Neale is now one of the favourites for the Brownlow Medal starting the season at $41 and moving into $15 prior to this round, however after 43 disposals and 1 goal in a 17-point win over Port Adelaide on Saturday night he has firmed to $6.
Punters still believe Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield is the favourite for the Brownlow at $4 firming from $6 before the Cats 24-point win over Adelaide.
Melbourne were upset by a spirited Essendon on Friday night which has seen the Demons drift from $3.50 to $10 to make the top 4 which is longer odds than what they were a few weeks ago to win the Grand Final.
Before the round, Richmond were still very popular with TAB customers holding most of the money for the AFL premiership at $9 with 19% but they have moved out to $15 after suffering a 49-point loss to GWS.
The Giants have tightened as a result from $11 to $9 to win the 2019 AFL Grand Final.
Other notable market movers from the round were;
Jeremy Cameron started the season at $17 to win the Coleman Medal and is now the favourite at $3.50. Prior to this round he was $7 but kicked 7 goals in the Giants win over Richmond.
