Matildas odds shorten to win 2019 FIFA Womens World Cup

Following Australia’s emphatic 4-1 win against Jamaica in the Women’s World Cup this morning, Australia are now $17.00 to win the World Cup outright, with Sam Kerr second favourite at TAB odds of $3.50 to be Top Goal scorer.

Australia ($2.35) take on Norway ($2.80) in a knockout game early Sunday morning. A victory would see the Aussies equal their best World Cup showing with a quarter-final result.

“After the blip against Italy the Matildas have really shown what they are capable of,” TAB’s Andrew Georgiou said.

“Sam Kerr is obviously a vital part of the team’s success and if she is firing then the team is a big chance against any team they face.

“She scored all four of our goals this morning against Jamaica which puts her equal with Alex Morgan from the USA as the tournament’s leading scorer at this point.”

The USA remain favourites to win the tournament for a record fourth time.
