Clearly, this is not the way that the Renegades would have hoped to begin their title defence. To be fair, they have been in the contest all the way to the death at all three of their appearances so far but have lacked the final blow necessary to win. A return home could be the ticket needed to finally break into the winner’s circle.
The Strikers meanwhile have been nothing short of outstanding and are full of confidence ahead of their fourth match of the season. Friday night’s gutsy win over the previously undefeated Stars was probably their best of the campaign and they take all the momentum into this.
I’m wary of the wounded Renegades and while there’s still good value around the Strikers in head to head betting, I’m going to stay away from it. Rashid Khan is one of the world’s best spinners and I’m confident he can take a couple more wickets in this match.
