New England Patriots head odds to beat LA Rams in 2019 Super Bowl LIII

After falling short against the Philadelphia Eagles twelve months ago, the New England Patriots – behind 41-year-old quarterback Tom Brady – are $1.74 favourites with TAB to defeat the Los Angeles Rams ($2.15) in Super Bowl LIII on Monday morning at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Brady and 66-year-old head coach Bill Belichick are contesting their ninth Super Bowl in 18 seasons and will be attempting to claim their sixth NFL championship after the Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime of Super Bowl LI two years ago.

“With less than 72 hours until kick-off, 62 percent of the support with TAB is for New England to beat the Rams and considering the stature of Brady and Belichick, that partnership could be enough to sway once-a-year NFL punters towards the Patriots,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.

“It will be a battle of experience against youth as the Rams will be guided by third-year quarterback Jared Goff and 33-year-old head coach Sean McVay who has been dubbed an offensive genius after only two seasons with the Rams.”

One TAB punter will have an anxious Monday after placing a sizeable wager on December 13 on the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LIII.

“Even though the Patriots were struggling by their standards a couple of weeks before the playoffs started, one TAB customer kept the faith and placed a $5,400 bet at $8 on New England to win Super Bowl LIII for a potential collect of $43,200,” Langskaill said.

New England were $7 chances with TAB to win Super Bowl LIII when the 2018 NFL season commenced on September 7 while the Los Angeles Rams were rated $10 hopes after reaching the playoffs the previous season.

The Rams, who have been in Los Angeles for three seasons after relocating from St Louis, will be playing in their first Super Bowl in 17 years when they were stunned as 14-point favourites by the New England Patriots 20-17 behind Belichick and second-year quarterback Brady in Super Bowl XXXVI.
