The battle for the AFC East is one of the top storylines to watch in the late window this week, and it just so happens that both the Patriots and the Bills are squaring off against fellow division opponents.
After demolishing Jacksonville 50-10 last week, the Patriots now take a trip to Miami to face a Dolphins team that has nothing left to play for.
Miami’s season came to an end last week with a loss to the Titans, but this does shape as an intriguing game given the Dolphins have won their last two meetings against New England.
Mathematically, the Patriots are still a chance at the No. 1 seed if something crazy happens, but I still like the Dolphins to cover here.
This has been a whirlwind season for Miami, and if they can somehow finish the season above .500 after starting 1-7, it will be quite an achievement.
There’s also a slight chance Bill Belichick chooses to rest some of his starters this week, especially after running back Damien Harris suffered a hamstring injury in the win over the Jags.
With Miami looking to end things on a high note and build towards next year, I’m with the ‘Phins.
