After recording a nail-biting 29-28 win over the Sydney Roosters at Panthers Stadium, Penrith are now $2.50 favourites at TAB to win the 2020 NRL premiership.
The Panthers stretched their winning streak to 16 games with their victory over the Roosters despite trailing 10-0 inside the first 15 minutes.
Penrith were $3.80 at one stage in the first half before scoring 28 unanswered points and after withstanding the Roosters’ late charge, they firmed from $3.50 pre-game to $2.50 to claim their first title since 2003.
One TAB customer was made to sweat late after placing $15,750 at $1.01 on the Panthers when they led 28-10 before making an eventual profit of $157.50.
The Sydney Roosters have eased from $3.75 to $6 in their pursuit of three-straight premierships and their semi-final opponent next weekend will be the winner of tomorrow night’s elimination final between Canberra and Cronulla.
