The Perth Scorchers’ return to form appears to be on, and they have opened pretty clear favourites to beat the Hobart Hurricanes this evening at $1.67, value around the third-placed Hurricanes, $2.20.
It was an awfully slow start to BBL10 for one the league’s most successful franchises, but a win over the Strikers on New Year’s Eve has well and truly sparked a change in form, and they have now won four matches in succession to sit fifth on the ladder.
The Hurricanes’ season has been almost the polar opposite of this evening’s opponents; flying the blocks but losing three of their last five matches, including two in succession leading into this contest.
The Scorchers are of course spoiled for choice at the top of their batting order and it’s subsequently a logjam in top runscorer betting; Jason Roy occupies the top line at odds of $3.60, ahead of Liam Livingstone ($4), Colin Munro ($4.50) and Josh Inglis ($5.50). Mitch Marsh looks to be the value at $6.50.
No surprises to see D’arcy Short lead the same market for the Hurricanes at $3.75, but a case to be made for Ben McDermott and Dawid Malan, both $, and Peter Handscomb, $5.50.
It’s tough to tip against the Scorchers on their current form, but I am going to build out my bet today with another two-leg Same Game Multi.
