The defending champs may also need to win to keep the Taipans from bumping them to third. The Wildcats appear to be timing their run, winning five of their last six – including strong wins over the Kings (110-100) and Bullets (85-72) at home over the past two rounds.
The 12-15 36ers are guaranteed a seventh-placed finish, going off the boil with four losses from their last five games. They crashed 99-80 at home to the Taipans in Round 19.
The 36ers have won 10 of their last 15 against the Wildcats. Perth won the teams’ initial clash in Adelaide in November, but the Sixers have jagged important victories on the road (99-88) and at home (100-97) in their two subsequent clashes.
The Wildcats are 10-3 at home and haven’t lost at Perth Arena since Christmas. The 36ers are 4-9 and the road and haven’t won away from Adelaide since Christmas. Expect the hosts to run away with this one.
