After playing terribly in the pre-season games and looking ordinary in their first two games of the season, it looks like it clicked in Portland’s third game against the Lakers.
They now face the Clippers on a back-to-back who had their way with Minnesota on Wednesday, but the Timberwolves are without Karl-Anthony Towns which now makes them one of the worst teams in the NBA.
Kawhi Leonard could return for the Clippers which is a huge boost for them, but despite this Portland still appear overs as the underdog in this.
No home crowds have certainly helped the away teams with travel now the only concern, but Portland has been in LA a few days now so there won’t be any travel issues in this one. The Clippers were a 68% win team last season, but when it came to back-to-backs they went at 55% with a 6-5 record.
The Blazers were impressive against the Lakers, with Lillard back to his old ways, McCollum continuing his hot start to the season while Gary Trent Jr and Enes Kanter were instrumental off the bench. Even if Kawhi does play, expect Covington and Derek Jones Jr to make life hard for the Clippers’ star wing duo.
