Punters narrow 2020 NRL premiership race to four teams

The race for the 2020 NRL premiership is focused on four teams beginning with the Sydney Roosters who shortened as TAB favourites from $3.50 to $3.25 after defeating St George Illawarra 24-16 at WIN Stadium last Thursday night.

Penrith – $15 before Round 6 – tightened from $5 to $4.50 following their 28-12 triumph over Canberra at Panthers Stadium last Saturday night.

Melbourne firmed marginally from $5 to $4.75 after they brushed aside Canterbury 41-10 at Sunshine Coast Stadium last Saturday afternoon.

Despite outlasting Cronulla 14-12 in atrocious conditions at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium yesterday, Parramatta eased from $4.50 to $5.

In other TAB notes of interest following Round 13:

• Brisbane – $81 before Round 4 – are now $3 to lose the most games in the 2020 home-and-away season (Canterbury $2.40 favourites)
• Stephen Crichton firmed from $7 to $4 to be the top tryscorer in the 2020 home-and-away season (Maika Sivo eased as favourite from $3 to $3.50)
• Nathan Cleary – $26 before Round 7 – is now the $2.25 favourite to be the top pointscorer in the 2020 home-and-away season
