On domestic fortunes one would give Porto a chance against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this week, but Roma seem to grow an extra leg when it comes to Champions League knockout stage matches. They made the semi-finals last season in stunning fashion and won all three of their home knockout ties. Porto, on the other hand, have only been past the round of 16 twice since 2004 (when they won the competition) and they’ve lost six of their seven away games against Italian clubs. That will continue. Edin Dzeko is on fire in the competition, closing in on Francesco Totti’s all-time scoring record for Roma in the UCL.
Porto’s front man Moussa Marega is also in hot Champions League form having scored in five consecutive games but The Wolf reckons Roma will lock it down in the Italian capital and will then pinch one themselves to hit the second leg in front.
