Sandown/Ladbrokes Park Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 16/6/2021

Eight races will be contested at Ladbrokes Park Sandown on Wednesday, June 16th.

The rail will remain in the true position around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Soft (7) range.

Preview brought to you by Ladbrokes. Learn more about Ladbrokes HERE.

Race 1 – 12:25PM – Clanbrooke Racing Handicap, (2400m)

Mr Joobs can continue his rise through the grades in the first at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The Hampton Court gelding has continued to improve with each start back from a spell this time, culminating in a smart win on the synthetic at Pakenham last time out.

This is harder, but it also looks to be the next logical step.

Race 2 – 1:00PM – Tile Importer Handicap, (1300m)

There isn’t a lot of form to divulge ahead of Race 2 at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday and I haven’t been particularly taken with what any of these runners have managed to date.

There is nothing I am particularly confident in, so I’m going to stay out.

Race 3 – 1:35pm – Ladbrokes Handicap, (1300m)

Amfissa returned a nice effort when resuming here at Ladbrokes Park late last month and can return to winning form on Wednesday.

The three-year-old son of Mongolian Khan raced well around some decent gallopers last time in, and he kept all of his best work for late when fourth, beaten only a length and a half here last month.

With improvement for that effort, and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

Race 4 – 2:10pm – Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap, (1600m)

This looks to be a very winnable race for Montia.

Montia has been a strong and consistent performer for Lindsay Park since resuming this time, and charged through to score in Class 1 company at Ballarat two starts back before returning another smart effort for second behind Star Of Eden here last time out.

He meets that horse better at the weights this week and he is rock-hard fit for this contest.

Race 5 – 2:45pm – Ladbrokes Switch Handicap, (1600m)

I’m happy to give Perennial another chance in the fifth at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Perennial ended her last prep in strong form and in a couple of better metro races at Caulfield and The Valley, and she returned from a spell to finish second behind Kurabui at Pakenham.

She returned a rare flat effort here at Ladbrokes Park last time, but I’m happy to forgive, and something like this is well within her abilities.

Race 6 – 3:20pm – Ladbroke It! Handicap, (2100m)

Dirty Deeds has been freshened since his last-start effort for sixth in a better race at Flemington, and I am going to give him one last chance in the sixth at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

Dirty Deeds stamped himself as a runner to follow early in the spring of the last year, and he was consistent performer through autumn without being able to break back into the winner’s stall.

He’ll need some luck in running after drawing wide, but Jamie Kah is sure to get the best from him, and that alone is cause for another chance.

Race 7 – 3:55pm – Ladbrokes Easy Form Handicap, (1400m)

I’m confident that Whittington Stone will run a race at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

Whittington Stone was a typically consistent performer last time in, and he returned to the races with a nice effort to fill the minors behind Halcyon Dame at Ballarat late last month.

With natural improvement and luck, I think that this looks a nice race for him.

Race 8 – 4:30pm – Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Handicap, (1200m)

There is a case to be made for several horses engaged in the last race at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday, including Ellis Park.

Ellis Park hasn’t been seen at the races since February, but he was good during his short preparation, finishing third behind a fit Galactus here before winning in Class 1 company.

Jamie Kah rides and I am happy to have something on.
