Sandown/Ladbrokes Park Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 21/7/2021

We’re back to Ladbrokes Park Sandown on Wednesday, July 21st for another eight-race program.

The rail will be set out 7 metres around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Soft (7) range.

Preview brought to you by Ladbrokes. Learn more about Ladbrokes HERE.

Race 1 – 12:25PM – Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap, (1300m)

Sharp Response can return to winning form in the first at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The two-year-old son of Maurice stamped himself as a runner to follow with an impressive win on debut at Sale and was last seen finishing second behind the talented Jigsaw in a Saturday race at Caulfield.

Fitter third-up and dropping back to the midweeks, he’ll take plenty of beating.

Race 2 – 1:00PM – Ladbrokes Easy Form Handicap, (2400m)

Dogmatic will get some relief in the weights under Rising Star winner Teo Nugent, and this looms as a very winnable race for him.

The Domesday gelding has mixed his form a little this prep, but finished a credible sixth at Flemington two starts back, and he kept all of his best work for late when fourth behind Smokin’ Romans and Vegas Knight here last time.

He is at peak fitness and can fight out the finish.

Race 3 – 1:35pm – Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Handicap, (1400m)

Austrata hasn’t been seen at the races since December, but he returned some pleasing performances last prep and can make a winning return in the third at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The four-year-old son of Australia made three trips to the races last time in, winning twice, including his first-up run at Kilmore.

He looks to have plenty of upside, and he can fight out the finish.

Race 4 – 2:10pm – Ladbrokes Handicap, (1600m)

This is a rise in class for Gabeira, but she couldn’t have been much more impressive when resuming, and it does look to be the next logical step.

The Deep Field filly raced greenly during her short debut prep in February, but returned with a barnstorming effort at Geelong earlier this month.

With natural improvement, this looks another winnable race for her.

Race 5 – 2:45pm – MRC Membership Renewal Handicap, (1600m)

Right You Are is a genuine Saturday-grade horse, and he can return to winning form second-up at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The So You Think gelding was nothing short of outstanding last prep, winning a Handicap at Flemington most notably and finding form around some above-average gallopers.

I thought that there was a lot to like about his first-up effort for fourth, beaten three lengths by Corner Pocket at Caulfield and this looks a beautiful race for him.

Race 6 – 3:20pm – Ladbrokes Switch Handicap, (1600m)

This looks to be one of the more open contests on Wednesday’s program at Ladbrokes Park, and a runner like Aquileon has claims on winning.

Aquileon hasn’t missed placing in six starts since debuting in the UK in 2019 and he has hit the ground running in Australia, culminating in an easy win at Werribee last start.

The mile looks to be his trip and he can continue his rise through the grades.

Race 7 – 3:55pm – Ladbrokes Punter Assist Handicap, (1200m)

Galactic Express was a bullish winner of a weaker race at Cranbourne last time out, and this looks a great opportunity for him to strike again.

The Street Boss gelding ended his last prep a close-up second in BM64 company here at Ladbrokes Park, and he was far too good when resuming.

With improvement, he can fight out the finish again.

Race 8 – 4:30pm – Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap, (2100m)

I’m going to give Perennial one last chance in the last at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

Perennial has had four starts back from a spell and haw been competitive on each occasion, but a win continues to elude her.

She enters this race after finishing second, beaten a head in a similar contest here three weeks ago, and a repeat would see her hard to overcome again.
