The Phoenix shocked the world defeating United by three, largely due to Mitch Creek’s outstanding 31-point game.
South East Melbourne has since gone on to win three of their four games, while the result sent Melbourne into a tailspin with back-to-back losses to Perth.
As the odds suggest, we should be in for another close thriller on Saturday afternoon. On one hand, South East Melbourne will again be looking to prove themselves after losing by double-digits to Perth last week, while on the other, United will have revenge on their mind.
It’s safe to say the Phoenix look the more convincing of the two teams right now. United got the win over the Breakers at home last week, but it wasn’t a convincing performance against a notoriously poor road team.
Statistically there isn’t much separating these two sides. Both teams share a similar field-goal percentage, and both are averaging 38.2 rebounds per-game. The only one glaring difference has been the Phoenix’s three-point shooting. South East Melbournre are averaging close to two more three’s per-game than United, so stick with the underdogs at some value.
