They recovered from a December slump by going 5-1 in January, but went down 110-100 to the Wildcats on the road last Saturday. Andrew Bogut missed the trip and the Kings will be eager to get him back on the court. The performance of Jae’Sean Tate (23 pts, 9 reb, 3 ast) was a positive.
The 9-16 Phoenix’s debut campaign has petered out. They are currently on a five-game losing streak, including a 100-93 defeat in Adelaide last Sunday – despite 27 points and 5 assists from MVP contender Mitch Creek.
The Kings have won all three of their clashes with the Phoenix to date. They grabbed a 90-86 win in Melbourne in their maiden encounter, before carving out victories by 12- and 17-point margins in Sydney.
The Kings have lost four of their last five on the road, but the importance of getting the W here should ensure they roll over the top of the Phoenix.
