The Rabbitohs pulled off the unthinkable last week in their 38-0 shutout over the Eels, but they face a much tougher task on Friday against a Storm side fighting to keep in touch with the ladder leading Panthers.

Melbourne returned to the winner’s list last week with a 30-6 stomping of the Sea Eagles and they have since been installed as short-priced favourites ahead of their date with the Bunnies.

The Storm won comfortably over Souths back in Round 4 as Ryan Papenhuyzen and Josh Addo-Carr wreaked havoc, a performance Craig Bellamy will be hoping his side can replicate with a handful of his stars still on the sideline.

Speaking of injuries, the Rabbitohs should receive some good news on the Alex Johnston and Dane Gagai front this week with both backs expected to return.

Their inclusion will go a long way to helping the Bunnies win their sixth game in a row with Latrell Mitchell ruled out for the rest of the year.

The Storm have won three straight over the Rabbitohs, but it’s worth noting two of those wins have come by no more than 10 points.

Souths win over the Eels last week was something special, however the jury is still out when you consider four of their last five wins have come against the Dragons, Broncos, Cowboys and Sea Eagles.
