A pair of clubs that went down 1-0 in Week 1 square off – but it’s Tottenham that are undoubtedly under more pressure.
Southampton came away from their trip to Crystal Palace with a loss, which was compounded by a dismal 2-0 EFL Cup defeat to Brentford midweek. Spurs were upset at home by Everton, before forging a late comeback to beat Lokomotiv Plovdiv in a midweek Europa League qualifying trip to Bulgaria.
It’s a hectic start to the season for Tottenham, who are away to Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup only a couple of days after this match.
The Saints have managed two wins and two draws in their last seven clashes with Spurs. Both sides banked a home win over the other during the 2019-20 EPL season, while Tottenham emerged victorious in a hard-fought two-leg FA Cup tie earlier this year.
Despite their struggles, Tottenham have far too much strike to pass up at this price against a Southampton side that doesn’t appear to have a lot going for them.
