You’ve gotta love a Sydney Derby, it’s easily one of the best fixtures in Australian sport.
No matter where Sydney FC or the Western Sydney Wanderers are on the table, there’s never a dull moment when these two meet.
While Sydney FC has dominated the competition in recent years, their form in the Derby has been shaky.
Three draws, three wins to the Wanderers, and the most recent encounter only a few weeks ago was an all-time on-brand Sydney Derby classic – with Western Sydney winning 3-2.
Sydney FC got the job done with a 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory in a midweek fixture, while the Wanderers have had plenty of time to ponder what went wrong on the receiving end of a 5-1 spanking to Perth Glory last Sunday.
