The Sydney Sixers are going to be very high in confidence after beating the Hobart Hurricanes by nine wickets in their previous game. That win came while chasing a decent total of 173 at a ground where chasing has not been easy. Now, they are going to host the Adelaide Strikers at the same venue.
A huge part of the Sydney Sixers resurgence in BBL 08 has been the form of James Vince. He scored 74 not out and has provided a much needed batting boost to the Sydney Sixers. With Hughes, Phillipe, Henriques, and Silk in the batting lineup as well, the Sydney Sixers are looking very formidable on the batting front.
The Adelaide Strikers have not been able to get their batting right this season. They have had some leading players missing for the majority of the tournament but that is not an excuse. Players like Alex Carey, Jake Weatherald, Colin Ingram, and Jonathan Wells have to start taking responsibility.
The Adelaide Strikers have left themselves very little room for error and need to win most of its matches from here on in.
The bowling is one area where the Adelaide Strikers look stronger on paper. Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake, Ben Laughlin, and Michael Neser make for a very strong bowling attack. Liam O Connor could possibly get a game as the second spinner in Sydney.
The Sixers are expected to stick with the same bowling lineup as their last game. Sean Abbott, Ben Manenti, Ben Dwarshius, Lloyd Pope, and Steve O’Keefe provide plenty of options to the Sixers as well.
The two sides appear closely matches although the recent form and home advantage are on the Sydney Sixers side.
