Sydney has opened -42.5 point favourites on Saturday at the SCG, largely due to a display North Melbourne coach David Noble labeled as “embarrassing” last week against the Lions.
The Kangaroos were belted by 102 points in a game that was basically over five minutes in, leaving many to wonder where last year’s wooden spooners are heading in the grand scheme of things.
Another tough road trip awaits this week against a genuine premiership contender, made only worse by the fact the Swans are looking to bounce back from a loss to the Dogs.
Sydney trailed for most of the game before staging a late comeback in the final term, eventually falling by 11 points in the end.
The Swans’ potent forward line was kept quiet for most of the game, but the most worrying sign for John Longmire had to have been the fact the Dogs were afforded 26 shots on goal.
Even so, this does look the perfect bounce back game for Sydney against a side they’ve four won straight against.
The Swans have also played to an outstanding 6-2 record straight-up and at the line following a loss, a number they can add to with North in shambles right now.
