Monday night on Christmas Eve will see a bumper Sydney derby between the Thunder and the Sixers. Preview:

Jason Sangha’s four 4’s and four 6’s guided the Thunder to an impressive 181 which is easily the highest score in the BBL so far this season. The Thunder had four players who made starts with Buttler, Watson, Ferguson and Root all scoring 15+ and it is this potential with the bat that will give the Sixers some serious concerns in this game.

The Sixers stumbled early against the Scorchers, losing key early wickets to finish on 3/37 from their first 6 overs. The Thunder were steadier with 1/46 against the Stars and the Wolf is confident that with a stronger top 5 batting order they will put together a higher 6 over total.

VALUE: Silk to Hit a Six, Joe Root Over 25.5 Runs, Thunder Most Sixes ($6.50)

Joe Root is absolute class for England and although he has played just one BBL match for the Thunder, the Wolf can look to his international T20 record in which he averages just under 36 runs per game to show punters that he is more than capable of scoring more than 25.5 against the Sixers.

The Thunder hit eight 6’s against the Stars on Friday night compared to just three for the Sixers against the Scorchers. The Sixers used two controlled innings by Daniel Hughes (62) and Jordan Silk (67*) with Edwards, Denly and Henriques failing to clear the fence. The Thunder have so much batting power that the Wolf thinks that whilst Silk should find his 6, the Thunder players will score more of 6’s overall.
